A Federal high court sitting in Kano has ordered that former
governor of Jigawa state Sule Lamido and two of his sons, Aminu and
Mustapha be remanded in Kano Prison till September 28th
when their bail application will be heard. The former governor and his
sons are being accused of collecting bribe totaling N1.35 billion from
government contractors when he was governor. Picture above shows the
former governor and his sons arriving court this morning...
At the hearing
today, the presiding judge, Justice Evelyn Anyadike ruled that the
former governor, his sons and one of his aides, Aminu Mustapha be kept
in Kano prison despite a plea from their counsel that they should be
transferred to the EFCC cell in Abuja or Kano. EFCC counsel had objected
to this, claiming that the cells in both Kano and Abuja are full to
 capacity.
